oh, the discovery
Neil was in the tech recruitment business. Placing talent into their dream jobs remotely/locally and providing his client with the best in the business was his bread & butter. He envisioned his company expanding in the coming future but wasn't having any luck in broadening his horizons. He felt that his socials were lacking in conveying his tone but also he had no brand presence as the website was done ages ago on WiX and he didn't post with such frequency on his socials.
He reached out on the basis of getting a whole package deal which included: Brand strategy, new Visual identity along with an attractive, functional Website (no pun intended) and a better social presence. I led this project with a team of two brand designers and we delivered the management of brand strategy, visual identity and web design.
The key advantage he had was the concrete business value that he provided in his services. It was a matter of elevating those values into a visual journey and coming up with a strategy that resonates throughout the business.
For the purposes of showcasing the web component of the project, the following goals only focus on web design:
Build a sitemap of the whole site that aligns with user goals
Create a user journey that caters to both clients and candidates within the industry on the homepage
Ensure the site is accessible so it caters to the percentage of users that may be visually or physically disabled
LET THERE BE COLOR
The major component of focus for the visual identity was to cater towards the dark UI but manage expectations for accessibility checks. The following components show the styling and UI design for buttons and graphics
A futuristic look with tech integration in the color palette so it stands out against a dark website UI
Google font called Nunito that allows for an easy reading experience.
Button and link styling was kept simple for ease of interaction
SERIOUS STUFF NOW - THE PROCESS
The existing website didn't direct the candidate or clients to their respective call to action areas. This was marked as an identifier of an issue for the business that found it difficult to convey its services. A sitemap was created to better organise the website structure and pages. This would help align the solutions created during brand strategy for the targeted users.
A clear sitemap to understand structure and plan

client's hot review
I can't recommend Samia highly enough. Having previously gone through two painful design processes for our site, I was sceptical, to say the least. Turns out I didn't know what "good" looked like. The process with Samia and her team was close to flawless. Highly collaborative, milestones always met / on -shedule, and most importantly, high quality. Really happy with the outcome and wouldn't hesitate to work with Samia again.
