the hot gossip

Joanna, owner of a language arts studio, struggles to showcase her services to potential clients before their first interaction. Without a compelling way to communicate her offerings or visually highlight her new studio, she risks losing interest from prospects who may not see the full value of her services

oh, the discovery

Listening and understanding

Joanna's situation is the invisibility of her services and studio and this created a barrier between her and potential clients. Despite offering valuable language arts programs and having a beautiful new space, she struggles to communicate this before people even step through the door. This lack of early engagement causes her offerings to remain hidden, leading to missed opportunities and lost prospects. The problem isn't her expertise or the quality of her studio, but rather the inability to present them in a compelling way early on, leaving her business vulnerable to the noise of competitors who are more visible.

This required a deep dive exploration about what was already working and what wasn't. After identifying the problems and narrowing them down to three realistic goals during this stage, it was time to engage into the next step.

LET THERE BE COLOR

Visual Identity

With the logo and brand tone already established, it was a matter of discussing visual elements for the website. For this to be made effective, competitor analysis was carried out on organisations that were direct contenders of the business.

Research revealed it is better to align the direction with softer and friendly tones along with the existing visual identity that just required refreshment of tonality. This would allow for familiarity to remain with repeat clients who trusted and engaged with services for several years.

In saying that, typography was chosen to be Poppins, a Google font which allows for an accessible and softer reading experience. Along with visual elements that revolved around circular, round and friendly color palette which existed in the studio and created a homogeneous environment digitally & physically.

SERIOUS STUFF NOW - THE PROCESS

User Interaction

With the visual tonality in place, it was time to structure the website so it fits the goals. A low fidelity wireframe was produced that resulted in a discussion with a client on the matter of prioritisation of the site goals. This allowed for a rich insight in understanding the user flow.

Layout now agreed, UI design began by creating a concept during the moodboard phase to get a feel of what the client thinks of the visual direction. With approval in sight and photoshoot images ready, the real UI/UX web design began.

Social Media

The last goal of the site was to curate content on Instagram as the additional social media platform to target younger parents and have a cohesive look and feel across all the platforms. It was important for this to be the last step as the website being completed and agreed on functionality and design, the social media templates can easily adapt to the design of the website.

Variations were created based on the type of content that has been seen receiving higher views.
