the hot gossip

Natalie had just moved with the business to Dubai and as a marketing lead, she wanted to ensure the start up is able to fuse both its connection and digital presence into a massive success. This would help grow the business to place great talent and acquire big name clients while keeping up with the fast paced trend of Dubai.

Finding the What, Why, How

White and Clayton's previous site was a basic recruitment site which did its job of getting candidates to look up for jobs but it no way helped in acquiring new businesses or allowed for a friendly user experience for the job seekers. Their socials were picking up drastically with high conversions on posts across Instagram and LinkedIn which was a bonus.

With preliminary research coming from the client herself as no data driven metrics were connected to the existing website, the best proposal for next course of action was for them to refresh their site to cater for optimum user journey (clients and candidates of selected demographic) along with their visual identity upgrade.

LET THERE BE COLOR

Visual Identity

The previous website only had black and white as the color scheme while the socials were given a fresh look from Natalie to incorporate hues of ash grays with green undertone. The strategy behind retaining the colors was simple; conversions on posts were high and it would have been a missed opportunity to not have those same colors added to the site. A pop of color was added to ensure the call to action buttons will stand out against the neutral tones.

Following this, sectors were created using an icon led style. During the initial discussion, the client mentioned how they wanted to keep the visual direction friendly & approachable but corporate. To achieve the first bit, the icons were selected to be more curved in nature to elude to a friendly direction. Shades of colors were added to the iconography to elevate the many components of it.

For fonts, Bebas and Open Sans were using to further elevate the said direction and maintain the mental models for clients to connect back to the existing site.

SERIOUS STUFF NOW - THE PROCESS

User Interaction

It was time to put the direction altogether and lay down the structure as per the discussion. Within the first draft, the design sign off happened leading to a one hit wonder success.

I am so delighted to have had the opportunity to work with Samia in redesigning the White & Clayton website! She was so responsive, knowledgeable, and attentive throughout our professional relationship. I have got countless comments on how fantastic our new website looks and it is all down to Samia's hard work and dedication towards the project.
